Therme Laa – Hotel & Silent Spa not only celebrated its 20th anniversary, but also its ongoing commitment to sustainability and ecological responsibility. Located in the heart of the Weinviertel Region, Therme Laa has developed into an international flagship project that emphasises the importance of regional development and ecological sustainability.

As a leading wellness resort in Niederösterreich (Lower Austria), we are committed not only to offering our guests relaxation and recreation at the highest level, but also to making a contribution to protecting our environment. Therme Laa is more than just a place to relax – it is a symbol of sustainable development and regional commitment.

A core aspect of our sustainability strategy is close cooperation with regional companies. Almost all of our needs – whether in catering or other segments – are covered by products and services from the region. This regional anchoring not only strengthens the local economy, but also reduces transport routes and the associated emissions.

Therme Laa understands sustainability as an ongoing process. All of our facilities and services are subject to continuous improvement, while always keeping an eye on their ecological impact. Our future projects, such as the expansion with the “Silent Villas”, will be realised in line with environmentally friendly construction practices and sustainable operating concepts.

Due to the Federal Energy Efficiency Act (EEffG), the managing directors of VAMED Vitality World have decided to voluntarily implement an Energy Management System in accordance with the ISO 50001 standard. The employees of VAMED Vitality World have made it their goal to make a sustainable contribution to the protection of nature and the environment in the course of their daily work.

As part of its energy management system, VAMED Vitality World aims to increase the efficiency and sustainability of its use of energy and naturally limited resources. Our company sees this as an important part of its business activities that contributes to its current and future economic success.

VAMED Vitality World has set itself the medium-term goal of evaluating and implementing suitable measures to reduce CO2 emissions as far as possible by 2040 in order to be climate-neutral in the best case scenario and at the same time act in accordance with economic principles. This goal therefore forms the basis of the entire energy policy activities of VAMED Vitality World.

All activities of the energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001 are carried out within the framework of the applicable laws and regulations and other requirements (e.g. requirements of interested parties) in connection with energy efficiency, energy use and energy consumption. Those responsible for energy management monitor changes in legislation, assess their impact and ensure compliance.

The principle of energy efficiency is integrated into the corporate processes and structures of VAMED Vitality World. In this way, VAMED Vitality World is continuously and sustainably optimising the system for managing and evaluating the energy flow in Austria.

VAMED Vitality World has developed energy-relevant criteria

  • to make the current status of specific energy efficiency measurable,
  • to define and implement annual measures for the continuous improvement of energy efficiency
  • and to recognise and prevent inefficient use of energy and resources.

An annual action plan is drawn up to optimise energy consumption and steps are taken to restore compliance if deviations are identified.

All activities at VAMED Vitality World are aimed at ensuring that natural resources are used as sparingly as possible. When procuring equipment, supplies for systems and devices, VAMED Vitality World sets great importance on ensuring that these have a high degree of energy efficiency and at the same time fulfil economic principles. The services provided by VAMED Vitality World

are carried out in accordance with ISO 50001 and in consultation with the customers of VAMED Vitality World, taking into account energy efficiency and sustainability wherever possible.

VAMED Vitality World has undertaken to ensure the availability of information and resources required to achieve goals and energy targets. The Energy Management Officer of VAMED Vitality World is nominated and equipped with the necessary competences to perform his duties. The management boards of the resorts support the activities of the central energy manager appointed by the energy management officer and his central energy management team as well as the central quality manager and decide on the release of necessary resources for the implementation of identified measures. The Energy Management Officer reports regularly to the management of VAMED Vitality World.

To achieve the planned energy targets, each resort has appointed a technical manager who has a direct influence on energy efficiency during operation and maintenance. The employees of VAMED Vitality World are regularly trained in order to constantly increase their awareness of efficient energy utilisation and compliance with energy-related laws and standards. The extent to which these targets have been achieved is monitored through regular audits and management meetings. Employees can contribute their own ideas to improve our processes.
VAMED Vitality World wants to motivate all employees and resorts that work with it to use energy efficiently.
