TRAVERSING THE WINE-DISTRICT THE TRADITIONAL WAY
Weinviertel Trolley
This trolley dates back to the original pedal-bicycle: In 1815, in response to poor harvests and horses dying, Baron Karl Friedrich Drais von Sauerbronn (1785-1851) invented a running machine on wheels. Thus the archetype of the bicycle was born. Named Draisines after their inventor, the trolleys are still in use along a beautiful route that runs through the Weinviertel region. The trolleys have two seats with bicycle saddles for the 2 drivers, and 2 additional comfortable seats with seatbelts for 2 additional passengers. A guaranteed fun time for all!
